Sarah received a call from a planner we have worked with before, Martha Baum asking if she was available for a Fall micro wedding. The bride had actually worked with Sarah many years ago for her first wedding and was thrilled to hear she was available again for her…only this time with her three grown children and the groom with his four grown children! It was to be a “family affair”.
The wedding took place upstate at an amazing venue called The Valley Rock Inn in Sloatsburg, New York. The owner took an old farm and redid the buildings for events and a private restaurant. He tried to keep the old farm feel and it is very cool!
The wedding was all outdoor and consisted of 14 guests including all their collective children with their significant others. The couple rented two houses on the property for the weekend. The day started out very chill as Sarah stopped by the houses to say hello. The weather was so nice that hair and makeup was able to be done on the porch.
Sarah spent about an hour capturing both families throughout the barns and grounds. Shortly after the family made there way over to the Shady Garden (that is what it is called) for a private ceremony. There was a guitar player adding to the romance of the ceremony. Each child read poetry and thoughts for their parents as they wished them well. This was such a loving and emotional ceremony as everyone was so happy for them and that Susan and Ed found each other.
Once the ceremony was over the families stayed in the Shady Garden for cocktail hour before moving over to the Rose Garden for dinner. Sarah caught the beautiful décor at dusk as the sun was setting. The florist for this micro wedding was Ron from Wildflowers. We just loved the Chuppah design and the Fall colors in the centerpieces.
A pandemic could not keep this couple from getting married and sealing their two families together as one. Congratulations Susan and Ed!
