Mitzvahs

HAMPTONS, HORSES, HEARTS AND DOGS FOR THIS MINI MITZVAH STORY

Not only do we enjoy and crave hot summer days…but we LOVE when we are invited to the Hamptons to capture a family celebration.  This weekend in August was for another wonderful repeat client sharing their last family Mitzvah.  We were lucky to share Mitzvahs with them for the past 10 years and are so happy for Dylan as he had the most perfect summer day.

The family could no longer postpone the Mitzvah due to COVID 19 because siblings had to head back to college in the Fall and an outdoor service at their Hampton home was the best solution.  When Sarah arrived at the family home it was set back with a huge horse farm across the street.  Sarah knew this was going to be a magical afternoon full of love when she saw two horses kissing as she arrived.

We just loved how casual this Mitzvah was and that Dylan was so chill and cool in his shorts and button-down shirt.  The family dogs got in the action and were all over the family photos and mitzvah service.  They added more love and family connection.  Just loved the dog wearing a yarmulke!!!  We would not be able to have pets at party’s pre-pandemic.  Because Dylan was the last Mitzvah of four kids it was only right that they raise him up in the air as his “rite of passage”.

It was just incredible to be able to have grandparents at the home and to see their grandson become a Bar Mitzvah.  Even the pandemic could not keep them away.  One of Sarah’s favorite moments during the day was grandpa hugging Dylan at the end of the service.  He was beaming and so proud!

Rabbi Joel Cohen drove out from Manhattan as well for the Mitzvah service.  He did not wear a face mask but kept his social distance during the service and blessed Dylan from afar.  It was at the end of the service as the Rabbi was speaking that Sarah looked up and saw the clouds began to part and created a heart shape in the sky!  This was remarkable and added to the theme of LOVE for the day.

The family said the prayer over the wine and Challah and this perfect afternoon came to an end.  We are creating a beautiful album and keepsake for Dylan and remarkable plexi- framed photos for the Hamptons home!  What an honor to capture and share memories with families that they will enjoy for years to come.   Even with a global pandemic we are bringing families together one zoom at a time.
