It was a February day in 2020 that Sarah and Chris met this sweet family in Brooklyn at their Synagogue.  We had photographed Talia’s big brother two years before and were thrilled to share in another Mitzvah with them.

The past year all we have been capturing are micro mitzvahs …and it was so fun to look at this amazing pre pandemic macro mitzvah with lots of people drinking and dancing together without masks and concerns with Covid 19.  We do feel that there is a light at the end of this very long tunnel, and we will be back to parties in the Fall.  Our fingers are crossed.

We thought a Bat Mitzvah at the New York Aquarium in Brooklyn was so cool.  Sarah started on the roof of the aquarium capturing the beach views as well as the family while the sun was setting.  We are just loving this golden hour and the sunlight on Talia’s face is priceless.

How cool is it to have your family portraits amongst the coral and fish and to have sharks swimming over your head???  We loved the ocean theme at the Mitzvah. Talia had hair clips that were starfish, the amazing centerpieces were scenes under the sea, the ice sculpture was a seahorse, and the incredible cake was a fisherman’s dream.

Guests entered the party through an underwater tunnel and were able to stroll through the exhibits and museums and enjoy their private tour.  There were so many sharks everywhere that added mystery, fun and danger to the event.  We just loved the huge fish tanks and moving art in the dining room for the reception.

Happy “fun Friday” and enjoy this flashback to bigger and happier times ahead.  Mazel Tov Talia.
