It was back in April…just a month after COVID hit that this couple had to make some decisions. Their wedding date was originally supposed to be May 2, 2020 at Alpine Country Club. It became clear they would not be able to celebrate with 200 guests and their family and friends would need to wait.
The decision was made to postpone their wedding to the Fall. The groom’s family owns a camp and there were many decisions to be made as no one even knew if kids would be able to go to summer camp let alone a wedding for this couple. The new date became November 14, 2020 and a perfect time for a wedding and COVID 19 to go away.
Rachel and Jared wanted to be married and did not want to wait till the Fall. Sarah was called to head to New Jersey to the family home for a micro wedding in their huge and beautiful backyard. The weather cooperated and this young couple were married! There were a handful of neighbors on hand spread out around the back yard and a musician playing guitar. The Rabbi conducted the service and Jared’s brother managed the Face Book ZOOM for hundreds of people to share in their love.
The front of their home was decorated with their names and balloons and the couple were married under a Chuppah with their dog by their side. At some point the dog fell asleep during the ceremony and the entire afternoon was relaxed and joyous!!!
There are so many silver linings through this pandemic, and we are lucky that #loveisntcancelled. Families can have their pets share their day and hundreds more guests can see the event through social media. It is not ideal but we all must adapt and continue to enjoy our lives and find reasons to celebrate.
Check out these images caught by Sarah back in May and stay tuned as this couple has yet again had to move their wedding date for the third time till May 2021. Fingers crossed we will all be having parties again in the Spring.
